i was going through the pics from this show that
JoeM posted and i came across the G with a
loader. Can anybody tell me more info about it. It
seems to me that the front end of the G would be way
to light for any kind of loader work.
Allis G with loader

Since the "G" had no Hydraulics, it had to be home-made..
I have seen many set up with hydraulics and even one with a complete "B" rear end and transmission, with a new injected 4 cylinder and it looked cool..
It had a Front blade..
Others look great, set up with hydraulic cylinders for a central blade..they look like a small Road Grader..!

That little tractor would be useable if it were reversed like they used to do all the time. It still would do half the work in 2x the time as a comparable skid loader though.
It is unique though! |

G's had Hydraulics, it was a factory option. You had to order it, cost like $15.00 in yesterday's money! Like other AC tractors of the age, I think it was high pressure, low GPM system. |

According to a book I have on Allis Chalmers written by Guy Fay the G had hydraulics (900psi). The book shows the G with an Allis loader on it. |

Hydraulics were an option on the G,I've been around Allis tractors and the G most of my life. I've only seen 4 with loaders, the one in your picture belongs to a good friend of mine who lives just up the road. As you can see, it's a very small bucket with a hand dump latch assembly. Yes it is a load on the front end and does tax the steering to the max. In it's day I'm sure it was a good cheap addition to a small farm and beat a shovel loading a wagon. The loaders were not made by Allis, but were produced by the Midwest Co.
Here is the brochure and also a picture of the shortened version

Local Allis dealer had one that they kept in showroom most of the time so I never thought anything about it being different than a WD in popularity. They used it to clear snow around town. Has since been sold after the owner passed away. He also had an orignal Wakasha engine WC on steel that he also kept in the showroom that was also part of the service shop. |
