Ralph,
You have opened yet another can of BK worms in the 1/16th scale In the pics. that I posted there are the two original Ertle models that were sent to us when we placed our orders for our 870 GD and our 870BK. The toys were labled 1070. The other Ertle 1170s have cast in labling, where yours says Black Knight. The GD has cast in print saying,
"National Farm Toy Show
Dyersville IA, 11/1/96"
The BK is labled in the same place
"1996 Collector Edition
Black Knight 1170"
The 1470 1/64th scale has some interesting comentary on each end nof the box. which goes as folowes."In 1970, officials at J.I. Case Corperation embarked on an advertising campaign to put specially painted tractors into the hands of farmers, allowing them the oppertunity to field test the new features of the 70 series tractors.
With their hood and cab painted black, and trimmed in gold, these unique tractors were dubbed "Black Knight Demonstrator" tractors. Produced in limited numbers, seeing one Demonstrator tractors is a rare event".
The other end of the box tells a brief history of the 1470 which was produced from 1968-1972, and rated at 144HP.
To move forward a bit the BK toy you have is much different than mine. What company produced yours, as it is a totally different body casting and has much diff wheels and rim coloring.

Hay BK870,
A while back you stated that you received a build card for your 870BK and it was shipped to Springfield NY. That would have been our dealership. Could you please copy the build card and e-mali it to me, and it would be nice if you posted it here also. There was an issue with that tractor when we ordered it, and I am trying to figure out if we took delivery of your tractor.

I neglected to mention that my 1170 demonstrator is a 1/43 scale. Made by Ertl same as the 1/64 1470 demonstrator. I got both of them within the past ten years. Here is a picture of my 1470 and it's box beside the 1170 box to show the size difference between the two scales. I think it is the same as yours.

Well since you mention it, I am kinda partial to my 1/64 four wheelers like this 4366 IH and Case 2470. Threw the Barlow knife in there for scale reference.
