My Ford 8N front mount distributor surges under a load is it alright to blow air thru the adjustments screws after checking for other problems, I think my carb is dirty? Thanks

NO!!!! Don't blow ANY thing into that carb!!! That may/probly will, cause you to buy a new set of floats!!!

Take the carb apart, and totally clean out the passages, and install NEW gaskets.
If the carb, has NOT been serviced in a long time.....I would suggest you actually need to overhaul the carb, installing a NEW carb kit in it!!!

Air NO but if you remove the drain plug from the bottom of the carb and then spray carb cleaner in that is ok. As Gary says ding it with air can/will mess the float up and then your in more trouble. Surging is caused by linkage binding and or the carb running lean

Check to make sure the carb-to-manifold gasket isn"t leaking. The engine will surge if it is.
