That pup don't look like a Catahula. This is what a Catahula looks like.

The white on the face down through the chest area, white tip on the tail and of course lots of spots. Yours has hound dog in it for sure, but seems more red bone than Cat. Somebody trying to change the breed direction? Or just a Cat Red Bone mix?

I'll check that out. There are certain traits that the dog must have to be considered a Cat. Yuma is missing a few. The white face stripe and feet, spots. the other things are tip of tail must be white and a left over dew claw on the hind leg(s). The dew claw just hangs there like your appendics on most.
Since they are a mix of breeds, that starts with the North American Cur, the adds Border Collie, Dalmation (spots lots of spots), Boxer, Pit Bull and others it's not surprising if a litter spits out one or more pups that resemble one of the breeds used to come up with a Cat. It was my understanding that the dog must have the features mentioned to be considered a Cat. If they looked like Yuma they were just considered a hound, they have all the makings of a Cat, just not considered one.

No matter the markings, the breed is one of the smartest working dogs, you'll ever run across. With Heelers mixed right in there with them.

Forgot the two tone eyes usually blue and brown. Bright blue as pups slowly turning more brown as they age.
