I'm not sure about the earlier 4 cylinder S-O-S tractors, but my 3 cylinder 4000 will go plenty slow. In 1st gear at the maximum governed 2200 rpms, is rated at 1.1 mph, and it has plenty of pulling power down to 1000 rpms, where 1st gear is rated at 0.5 mph. |

many pros and many cons, totally dependent on who you talk to and which transmission it is.
mine was used for mowing and garden work.
pros; dependable, functional, good road speed and slow speed, good usable pto and fun to operate.
cons; demands clean and correct fluid and level, fewer qualified techs to work on them, possibly higher maintenance needs, parts; new and used increasingly difficult to find,
many highly qualified posters on this forum to advise and help. |
