The "squeak" is a miss-fire that is occurring intermittently. I used to think that was "normal" N behavior but a couple months ago britcheflee doggedly chased the condition using the advise on this site and his own sleuthing ability to determine a cause and correction....for the life of me I don't remember the fix (I'm afflicted with CRS) but maybe someone here will chime in with it.

Have you run it without the fan belt? That would rule out genny or water pump or loose belt.

I quess I should have mentioed , the sqeak is not coming from the motor , it is coming somewhere from the PTO shaft at the rear of the tractor . I'm not concerned about the squeak , like I say , who cares?

No Lisa , I didn't rebuild the motor, the motor was seized and hadn't run for 26 yrs, I just filled the cylinders with ATF and kept working the pistons until they came free , everyday about an hour for about 2 weeks. Thanks for asking.
