Driving north tonight at 11:50pm I could see odd patterns in the distant sky. Anybody else notice them? |

It's a little unusual to see it as far south as NC, but it does happen. I think that I have seen it three times in my life. But it sure is a beautiful sight! |

spaceweather.com
"GEOMAGNETIC STORM UNDERWAY: A moderately strong (Kp=6) geomagnetic storm is underway on Nov. 13/14 as Earth passes through the wake of a CME that swept past our planet yesterday. High-latitude sky watchers should be alert for auroras. "
Too cloudy around here to see. |

I was watching northern Michigan news last night and they said that they were starting to appear. I didn't get out of bed to look myself. |

Got to them a couple of times while in the Navy when we were close to or above the Arctic Circle. For anyone that hasn't seen them they are a uniquely beautiful, yet eerie sight. |
