I am working on my John Deere 710 tractor. Having trouble finding where to drain the hydraulic fluid from. Also what type of oil do I use in the transmission. Hydraulic system has water in it want to drain clean out and refill before winter. Having trouble getting tractor into reverse.

1-800-522-7448 will land you a well illustrated operator"s manual .
Won"t shift? Grinds ,the shifter won"t move or the shifter moves but the gear selection won"t change?

Pretty much a given as Deere didn"t ship the 510 and 710 to the US. The 310 didn"t even make it across the Atlantic.
My neighbour has a somewhat functional 510. The Dubuque style 300 engine in a Lance 10 speed chassis is interesting.
Mother Deere ships the manuals no problem. Just request the post office instead of UPS.

There should be one drain plug in bottom of trans case directly below the gearshift levers and another drain plug in bottom of diff housing. Refill with JD Hy-Gard or it's equivalent type oil..

transmission and hydraulic fluid are seprate on the 710 tractor. transmission and rear end share same gear oil. hydraulic fuild is in a plastic resivoir bolted to the underside of the rockshaft housing and set inside the rear casting. there is a cap on a tee fitting on the return hydraulic line under the right footboard to drain some of the fluid. the only way to get it all out it so use an extractor to suck the resivoir empty
