1st problem:
Had the carb rebuilt a year ago. Three of four spark plugs pretty tarred up. When increase the throttle it sputters and then revs but spews out a lot of black smoke.
Checked the settings on the carb and believe to be okay. Something internal on the carb? Any ideas?
2nd problem:After running a while and then turn off, wont start again until cool down. Press on the starter switch and get nothing. Bad connection? |

First I'd check the spark.
When was the last time you checked/cleaned/gapped/replaced the points?
You may want to replace the plugs too.
Starter switch could be a bad connection.
Its cheap to clean and tighten all the connections. Just takes some time.
Let us know what you find. |

Black smoke is too much fuel. Can be carb adjustments or air filter system. |

Around this part of the world we have a little bug called the "Dirt Dobber". I've seen these little devils block the whole air cleaner tube with their big dirt nests.
I hate Dirt Dobbers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
