Hey guys, I know I'm in the wrong forum. I also posted in crawlers but not getting an answer. Have a 1946 TD6 crawlere with the MD diesel engine in it. Came with no battery. The guy couldn't remeber if it was positive or negative ground. Hwe always used the crank handle. Any body know?

It could be either. It's 66 years old and anything could have been changed during that time.
However, FACTORY is positive ground.
If it has the original generator and regulator, it will work either way. All you have to do is polarize the generator. The starter spins the same way whether it's positive or negative ground.

thanks for the info. generator and regulator look original. didn't realize i could change by polarizing the generator. live and learn!great peiople on this site!
