Can somebody help me out? I've got a 1020 gas tractor that leaks hydraulic oil out of the bottom of the bell housing when i shut it off. I believe it's the seal on the transmission input shaft. I need the tractor and want to do a one day job,so I want the parts here before I split it.
Problem is that the JD PArts website is a little vague on this. I pulled up the powertrain section, then number 10 clutch disconnect and flywheel. As far as I can tell,I need number 8,part number AF1934R. Does that look right? What about number 9,part number T22178 ? It says washer. Is that a large O ring/gasket for the housing that holds the seal?
Also,it looks like that seal goes in from the back. Does that number 10 part that they call a support have to come out?

Thanks.

The parts you looked up are for a tractor with the hyd reverser. Does your tractor have a hyd reverser? What type pto does your tractor have (trans driven, continuous[dual stage clutch] or hyd independent] ??

No reverser, live PTO,not independant, two stage clutch type. Has the main clutch and the PTO clutch in the flywheel. 1969 model. that part's site isn't labeled real well.
Thanks

Thanks. Can that be changed from the front after the split? Or is there more to it than that?

Parts key #2 can be changed just by splitting between clutch housing & engine but if parts key #10 is leaking then that's a different story.

What do you think the odds would be that it would be the other seal? The number 10?

I think the % for having to replace #10 would be very low.
