Years ago, in the 1960's, I bought a 77 diesel block and put a 77 gas head on it to make it a gas engine.
Can you do the same with the super 77 diesel engines?

HC (gas) and Diesel short block assemblies were the same part number.

You would also need the timing cover and governor from a gas engine. On the diesel block there is a port for oil pressure to the injection pump that may need to be plugged for the gas conversion. A parts book would show what needs to be used there. Can"t remember how that looks.
