9n sherman

Hi, thinking of picking up a 9n with a sherman trans was this a stock trans? did all of them come this way? thanks

The Sherman was an add-on gearbox between the original trans and the imput to the rearend,easy to install at the dealer or at home,not all 9n,2n,or 8n's had them,it was a option.

why is the shifter up in the bell houseing?

The shifter in in the bell housing because the Sherman aftermarket trans is also in the bell housing

The auxiliary trans replaces the input shaft which runs from the flywheel to the transmission.
