What do you want to know? The planter owner manual will describe pretty good how to lay the wire.

we do check planting at our show each year, some movies on youtube that we made, put in fulblast1, should get you there, rod

The Operator"s Manual for a JD 290 corn planter has detailed instructions/diagrams on check planting.

I believe I have all of the equipment needed to try it but as yet I haven"t had the time.

You can see the operators manual for a JD 490 planter online.....JD parts.com. You can actually flip through the pages on the screen. There is a diagram in there that shows how to lay out the wire, etc..
