I was watching Ken Burns Documentry on the Dust Bowl (1932) and they showed this picture (@29:26). Turns out it is from Colby, Kansas.

Good image of a distributor of Massey equipment.

The store is now Donelan's Jewelry Store. Located at 39.39734,-101.045836 looking east on google maps street view.

Jeff

I saw it also, Jeff and noticed the Massey Harris dealer. You know, it's remarkable how little is taught in school about the dust bowl and the depression.

Here is the modern view according to Google.

The store front line is still very much the same. Looks like the hotel has been torn down.

enjoy

That might be because both are going on again as we speak??? Hey there were so many dead baby stories and sand in the sugarbowl stories I was grossing out, didn't turn it off, but it turned me off!
Wait till the Ogalalla goes down to the point a pump can't draw any up the pipe at all... what did Mark Twain say, whiskey's fer drinkin', water's fer fightin'...
and my TV is so old it couldn't focus on the signs, but I remember seeing the shot, it was on here Sunday and Monday PM...

I watched a bit of that on Sunday evening, very interesting. I saw a lot of old tractors in the footage they had.
Tony.....if it's a tube set there is a focus control in the back of it, might be a hole for you to stick a screwdriver, might need to take the back off. Or maybe it's just time for a new set! Hey, if ya stopped buying up all the old MF inventory maybe you could get one!

Water is the next big commodity shortage. My theory is with the earth warming and the great lakes having such a large percentage of the fresh water that real estate in Michigan, Wisconsin, Ontario, etc., etc., will skyrocket at some point... after we are gone of course.

Just keep your finger away from the anode cap and you'll be fine. I took about 22KV from one probably 10 years ago. Went in my elbow and out my finger, left an entry and an exit wound........I haven't been the same since. Confused
