W orking for spring

brought the "new" 900 one way disc plow seeder up so I could clean her out and see if I can use her for spring seeding, the PO had neglected to clean her out the last time he used her and I have yet to get one boxes feed shaft loose but I did get one completly freed up and the other box feed adjust loose and am gaining on the last one, I guess I am a little picky when it comes to service but if it has a grease zerk I grease it usally more than the book calls for, I see on this unit they greased the easy ones but if it required bending over or getting down on your knees they shikked these points, all in all it looks to be in or will be in good useable condition with a few repairs, sure glad I have drill parts on the shelf as I will have to change out a few items due to the failure to clean the boxes after seeding, any way eneough of my rambeling on hope you enjoy the update and pics, I also added a couple of this mornings sunrise cnt

I'm sure you'll get it going. Most of what I buy is in bad shape cuz that's all I can afford. I'm looking for a grain drill myself as well. Keep the pics coming.

Rod here are some "in the bin" pics for you the two ends are the ones holding me right now but I think they will come loose by spring lol I thought it was different the way the PO drew lines and wrote number of bags to fill up/or used?? with pencil, by the way has any one heard of NEEP?? give me your thoughts cnt

That seeder looks interesting, being from Southwest Minnesota we never see any wheatland implements around here and I find them intersting. That thing would work good for planting oats I bet, maybe I should look for one for that purpose lol

That Neep looks to have an apostrophe(')in the middle so maybe it's a contraction of two words. I've never heard of it.

Where did this unit come from? Seeing durum on the list ups my curiosity. I grew up in North Central North Dakota (sort of in Ande's area) and it was known as The Durum Triangle in the counties of Towner, Ramsey and Cavalier. But it probably wasn't the only area that grew durum.

I have relatives in Canada who call those units "Diskars" or "Diskers". In North Dakota we called them "one-ways" and they didn't have the seed boxes.

Just love the looks of the old drill and cant wait to see the beautiful 930 hitched to it next spring. I looked up neep on wiki and it is a turnip so who knows what they were planting.
