I thought I would share some more progress on my 1865. I'm still only working on it on Sundays. I Took one of the jugs off a couple of weeks ago and last week I took that to work to press out the pistons. They came out allot easier than I thought they would but I was glad I used the press. Since then I have taken off the other 2 jugs, oil pan, fuel tank, hydraulic pump, water pump, fan assembly, and the front end. I found the #6 rod bearing is in bad shape and because the bolt holes in the block that bolt to the frame are all stripped out and loose the engine had dropped and the crank pulley was rubbing on the steering bolster pretty good. I was going to get the engine unbolted and on the floor today but ran out of time. Next Sunday I guess. I know everyone like pictures so here are a bunch to enjoy. a g955, I was thinking it was the g950 but know you guys
would know.

Is there any specific place you braced the front end when you removed it? Going to have to do some work to my 950.

The 1865 is the same as the G950. The 1870 is the same as the G955. I get confused easily too.

The only thing I did was put a couple of blocks between the frame and axle to keep it from tipping to the side. As far as taking if off we put jack stands under the transmission and then unbolted the frame rails and walked it out by hand like a wheel barrow. It might be a little trickier than that if you still have the grill and radiator on the front. But nothing a skid steer wouldn't handle to walk it ahead.
Thanks for all comments. Yes this is a G-950.
The Massey's are my father in laws. All the extra parts he has are for the tractors he has. He is not someone who takes very good care of his stuff and if its easier to just leave something off then that's how it will stay.  Drives me nuts as I am the complete opposite. Great guy, he just doesn't care about that stuff I guess.

Just keep us updated on your progress on this
tractor- this has to be one of the neater ones I've
seen posted, and I've enjoyed every step along the
way so far. These are some pretty neat tractors-
wish I kept my G950 now!
