I HAVE A 1949 G JOHN DEERE THAT IS LEAKING OIL IN THE CLUTCH HOUSEING. ITS WETTING THE CLUTCH DISC'S AND OTHER COMPONENTS. LOOKS LIKE ITS COMING THROUGH THREE HOLES IN BACK OF HOUSEING |

That would be a neat trick if they used a seal.
Most times a worn pulley bushing, and maybe a plugged oil drain back hole can cause oil into the clutch, but most times its the worn bushing. The close fit is all that holds the oil back. Crankcase blow-by can cause oil throwing as well. Worse when you drop the right wheel into a furrow to plow. |
