We noticed we believe four 80, John Deere listed today and the prices seem quite unrealisic based on their condition etc , we know they made less than 3500 of them ,a man in iowa at one time owned the 1st and second made and a man in eastern Montana had the last one ,,,,with about 290 with manual steering and a fair amount exported maybe these are kinda rare wondering what some others think..thanks |

This one was given a spot in my barn (permanently) in the spring of 2008. Top dollar was paid then and have not seen one sell even close to what I gave since (all have been higher).

Glad I got one when I did. |

Dan,
That is a beautiful machine. I think all of the big models toward the end of the two cylinder era are not only special but will be a good investment in the long run. I'd like to find one of each from the "R" to the 830. |

I've had an 80 for 10 years now. They are great tractors....but bottomless moneypits if you find the wrong one. Mine was cheap ($4500) but have spent plenty since then.
Love the tractor, but it's quite a learning experience too!
