I am looking at a farmall a. Hand crank with a side planter on it. Has not ran for some time. I am going to buy it but never had a planter to deal with. If barn kept do I need to buy plates for it to plant corn with.

It may well have corn plates in it.iF you buy it,take a pic of the plates,along with a part no.Then we can tellyou what you have.You should know,corn seed is 'graded'/sized.you need a specific plate for each different size.Chances are good however,that the planter is already set up for corn.Corn plates for IH are readily avaiable for about $7 ea.See your seed corn dealer. |
