Will a 12.4 x 38 tire fit okay
on my SC Case's 10" rim?
On the 12.4 tire it mentions
for an 11 inch rim.
Thanks. |

Yes, the 12.4-38 will actually be correct for your tractor. I just went through this during the past year.
Case put the next larger width tire on both rim sizes for the SC (also for the DC and VAC-14, BTW). Thus, an SC with 9" rims would have come with 10-38 tires, and an SC with 10" rims would come with 11-38 tires.
Also, a new system for measuring tire size came out in 1954. Tires used to be measured by the tread width, and they are now measured by the maximum width. Thus, an old 10-38 is the same size as a modern 11.2-38, and an old 11-38 is the same size as a modern 12.4-38.
Thus, your SC with 10" rims should use 12.4-38 tires. |

For maximum use of the tread, an 11" Rim is recommended for the 12.4X38. On the 11" Rim, the sidewall of the 12.4 will be straight, but on the 10" Rim the sidewall will round in where the sidewall meets the rim. |
