My dad and I are rebuilding a 1950 8N and the guy we bought it from is handed us the carb and said this is the one that goes to it. Problem is the mounting holes don't line up. One of the guys at work said his came with a spacer plate. Thing is I havn't been able to find a spacer plate listed on any parts list or break down on the web. Have any suggestions?

Billy;
If the PO, gave you a carb for your 50 8N, and the mounting holes do NOT mate up, with out using a spacer, for the manifold intake, to carb......then you DO NOT have the right carb to use for the 'N' series tractor!!!!!! Suggest you obtain an orig. carb for that engine.!!!!!
Not saying that the carb you were given, will not work with a spacer.....BUT, it will not dial in correctly, in the fuel to air system, unless you really know what to do to get it to work good!!!!
Check this listing sheet for the carb #'s, that will be OEM, for that engine to operate correctly.

You can call 406-677-2526, and I will/can help you more with where to look for the right carb#'s, for that tractor, AND/OR, help you get the right carb for your 1950 8N. Only take you about a 10min. call, and you will know what to look for!!!
Call ASAP....as I will soon be away from the pho. and working on Other carbs, in the carb shack!!!

As GB said wrong carb. Should have a brass plate on it with the TSX241 to be for an 8N plus the linkage hook ups should have the ball type ends

Thanks Gary, once I get back to the house I'll check to see what carb I do have. I left a message for the guy I bought the tractor from so hopefully he has the right carburetor in his shop. Appreciate the help sir.
