Hey,
Can anybody tell me how big of a deal it is to bore out a 540 to make it 640? Or just how big of a cubic inches you can get with out stroking it.
Just wondering
Thanks

the 540 is 4.375 bore x 4.5 stroke

i THINK the 640 is 4.5 bore x 5 stroke. if you bore the 540 to 4,5 you will get 572 cubes. donno if thats the limit.

The 640 has a 4.63" bore and 4.75" stroke, vs 4.25" bore and 4.75" stroke on the 540. The 640 uses a different block and heads too.
