Found two of these roaming around the countryside today. I have never seen anything like them so if they aren't a combine please correct me. I will get more pictures later on after I find out who owns it and if they will allow me too. It is a Gleaner in the background.

That looks to be a No. 6. It was not a good design for Deere. Due to the dismal performance of this machine and competitive pressure it was replaced in 1939 with the 11 and 12 combines, later to be replaced by the mirror image 11-A and 12-A a year later. Mike

Yup that's a #6. There suppose to be a hot collectable. Userwise there are about the worst thing Deere ever made. Once you start studyin how this thing was designed u will shake your head.

I have a phone number to who I believe owns the machine. Going to call them in the next day or two.

Looks like in pretty nice condition. Got to love the dry climate out there. Did you ever find any info on the other old JD"s from a few weeks ago? Thanks, Brad

Well Lance looks like a treasure trove of goody's. You got two #6's a pair of 30's and #64 chooper. The Serial number on the #6's is on the frame underneath the cylinder. Believe it or not they made about 3600 #6's in three years.

I'd love to have that 11. There can not be many of the right cuts left anywhere. Only built 1938 I think but it was only one year. That 205 corn head is a valuble critter too.
