I got the outer ring off and the new tire and tube in. Not able to get the one piece outer ring back on. Pops off when I get about two feet from having it on. Any clue? |

The rim groove and the ring groove must be clean of rust and paint build up for them to lock together. I find it best to lay wheel flat on ground and stand on top of ring so it does not pop out when I am working on it. oldiron29 |

I am sure you probely know this, but when you air up the tire make sure you protect yourself with chains around the tire if you don't have a tire cage.

Try using some nylon ratchet straps to hold the ring in place while you work the last little bit onto the rim.
When airing up, I would also use a locking air chuck, and control the air with the valve on the air compressor from as far away as possible, rather than stand there and hold the chuck. |

I assume you have the same rims I do on mine, I was able to pry on that little lock/clamp/whatever its called just enough to let the ring slip down far enough to get it on. |
