The 14.9 tire is a taller tire than the 15.5. The sidewall height on the 14.9 tire is between 1.5 and 2 inches higher than the low profile 15.5. The 15.5 tire was created to have approximately the same sidewall height as a 13.6-38 but with a wider tread width. You can look on the Firestone website and see for sure. Mike |

15.5x38 is a low profile short sidewall tires. A favourite of tractor pullers. |

Mike is correct, the 15.5 was a special low profile tire. |
