Seized farmall cultivator shanks

I got a set of cultivator shanks for my super a and every last one is locked solid. what is the best method to free them up? I'm open to any ideas, thanks

loosen the wedge locks, get a bigger hammer !!!!

PB Blaster works for me.
Work the wrench back and forth little at a time.
Soon it will loosen up.

Sorry, I guess I was a bit vague. It's the trip mechanism with the spring that I'm trying to get to work. Thanks for your answers though.

I had the same issue with my Super C shanks. Fortunately I accumulated several sets knowing I would have to make 1 out of 2-3. I put all the hard to free up ones in a 30 gallon drum of used oil. When I was ready to work on one I'd hang it up and let it drip dry for a day.They worked loose a lot easier.

I'm assuming (and you know what they say about that), that you have backed the tension off on the springs. Then a good soak with PB blaster or some similar (not WD-45) penetrating oil and a big hammer.

Reminded me of the first C Dad bought. It was during cultivating time for corn and as it was assembled, the shanks tripped too easy... pick the cultivator out of the ground and they would throw dirt about 20-30'. Being the first trip shank cultivator Dad had, he was looking at what he needed to do when just across the road at out neighbors was an IH service man... he came over and tensioned them right. This would have been in 1949 when I was 7 years old, but I remember it like it was yesterday.... don't remember what I did yesterday, but 63 years ago I can remember.
