|
|
The 430 I recently purchased has an extra tank mounted on the back of the seat with a hose running under the seat into the fill. It's not very big, I don't think it would hold a full quart. Is this oem john deere equipment or something someone has retrofit on it to get more capacity or to make it easier to fill? |

I have not seen one on a 430, but have wondered about adding something to get more capacity. I have a loader on my 430 and it used to push hydraulic fluid out the fill plug when I worked the loader hard. The problem was that I had a bad loader valve that was sucking air into the system. Perhaps someone added the tank as a sort of overflow. |

Very possible. It did have a loader on it at one time. |

my 430 has extra tank on the back of the seat. I got it from an orange grove that had it from new , has a new idea loader on it that was for loading and dumping big square metal orange bins into tractor trailers. think it was an add on tank when dealer put the loader on. |

I'm making an aux tank for my 50 right now. It will mount above the factory fill opening for the powertrol. It holds two quarts. I need additional capacity to work the hoist on a home-made dump trailer. As soon as the paint dries I'll mount it and see if it works. . . |

We had one on an A John Deere that had one of those huge single cylinder lifts that was used on front end booms and manure loaders. The volume needed for the big cylinder required more hydraulic fluid. Our extra tank was round and mounted right above the fill opening and
was capable of containing at least a couple of gallons. When we were not using the lift we just removed it. Worked great. |
