If you had a 60 year old tractor with an hour meter that worked what would or could you expect it to read with average use. I bought a Super M a couple years ago with a service meter on the right side of the timing cover. It works and shows 8838 hrs. The guy I got it from said it didn't move for about 12 years and I've only run it maybe 5 hrs. This thing was beat up pretty bad for what seems like low hrs. on that old a tractor.

It all depends. Ive got a 1978 1086 with 25,000+ on it. Ive also got a 1959 560 with 4950 hrs. Its all in what the previous owners used them for. First, I would not trust a 60 yr. old HM. Second, well, I just wouldn't trust a 60 yr. old HM. Avg use though, I would say 750 hrs/yr. if it was a specific job tractor. 1000+/yr if it was a general purpose tractor.

That is actually quite a few hours. I would not expect the gas engine is original

Had 2 400 with hour meter and a SMD that had from the high 8000 to high 11000 range. They worked but have no idea if from new.
