I was working for our dealer and got to help remove "old abe" from the school. I really didn't realize the importance of the situation until the local paper and 2 TV stations were there, the boss man was really sweatin bullets. I remember him saying "What ever we do...Don't @&*!ing drop it"! lol. Someone had said there were 2 of these and were at the tractor plant gate in Racine? The other ended up in Brazil but made it back to the states years later? Anyone here know more info? The other pics are of the tractors for the Case only auction. I will try the scaned articles.

There was an article on the one that came from Brazil in Old Abes News recently. It has been restored and is in front of the Case Corporate Office. |

The fall 2012 issue of Old Abe's News has an article on page 36 that was reprinted from: Eagle Times October 1992. The article did not say if the eagle is still in the same location at the down town Operations center. It was set up for the 150th anniversary. |

It is still in the same place. I took the photo of the Ops eagle that is on the cover of the Fall issue in late April, 2012 so that's is a current picture of it.

My mistake. I did not read page 34 carefully enough. Good to know that Old Abe is not forgotten. I liked the article. |
