Need a block and hub assembley #3616151 for a massey 165 w perkins 203 diesel. This is the hub that drives the front mtd. pump for a freeman loader. I need the 10 spline hub. Not the left hand threaded hub. Thanks.I checked w/ some bushhog/freeman parts sources w no luck. Used is fine.

When we bought a new hub for our 165 (continental gas) it came as the left handed threads, and the previous was splined. I just made up a shaft with the left handed threads on that side and put a key on the other. In all honesty, that's probably your best bet. Any shaft that the dealer had was much too short, and had to be spliced to make it long enough to stick out the front far enough to couple with the pump.

Thanks for your reply, This loader came off of a 35 furguson w/ virtually no mods. to frame believe it or not. Would be a shame to abandon the front pump and opt for running off the rear of tractor. Located a 17-1/4" shaft from agco. This clears the front end w/ 3' to the morflex. May need to check on a threaded shaft that length, and go ahead and convert to the threaded hub, which I believe is still available.

I have located the threaded hub, and two different shafts. One is 14-1/8' and the other is 15-7/8'. These have internal splines, 13 I think. Did you obtain an adapter from spline to keyway on the pump end? Thanks.

I'm a machinist so I made my own shaft. Left handed threads on the engine side and a 3/16 key on the other side for the pump. I made the shaft a little long and cut it off after putting it in and measuring where it needed to be. I don't know what the actual length turned out to be

I should add that I started with a 1" shaft, the threads were 7/8 coarse left hand thread if I remember right. The other end I turned down to 3/4", and milled a 3/16 key in it. The dealer offered a shaft that was about as long as you say, but for the 165 it needs to be longer.

We had replaced it once before then (back when I was a kid) and we had to have the new shaft spliced with the old one so it was long enough.

thanks for the info. I have located a parts outfit in vermont who believes he has some new old stock splined drive hubs for massey's. I will look into it further if this does'nt work out. Thanks again.

I should add that we had to replace the splined shaft because the splines wore out. You won't have that with threads because they'll always be spinning themselves tight.
