Though it would sure be a easy replacement if a donor 350D Farmall was a few feet away, and if (and only if) it was 100% operational and low hour.
A Perkins engine is far far better in every aspect. Power, Starting, Efficiency, Cost of parts, Availability (engine and parts), life expectancy, and resale value. Several perkins implants are out there. Very neat.

You're gonna have to put an awful lot of hours on an H to recoup the cost of a good diesel engine. But if you just like doing something like that go ahead.

Or, you could just look around for a Farmall M with a Sheppard diesel conversion. That was one of the best Farmall Hs ever. (;>))

This was in the late 70s and the guy that did it said all he had to make was the front motor mount. Of course that don't mean he was telling the truth, but it had all the original tin work on it including hood, grill fan shrouds and gas tank. Looked like it came from the factory only with 2 mufflers on the sides sort of like the 1468's have. He pulled it at the county fairs for many years, never did well, but looked great.

Perkins conversions were the feature theme at the tractor show in Newark, England. I don't know much about Nashers, but there were a couple of models in there that I never had seen converted before.

hey, if you find a 460 diesel, you can bolt in the 6cyl into the H bellhousing. it would be a 460 from the bell forward, and H from bellhousing back. you can even adapt over 460 sheet metal.
