|
|
I was reading the post below on front axle spacers.
Question I have is, how often do you guys actually adjust your front axle width?
I changed mine on the 8N when I set it up to plow with, but never really
had a reason to change it back so I left it there.
As long as the front tires track with the rears, I don't mess with them.
As I've said, I'm not farming with mine, but I could think of a few
scenarios where it might be necessary to change them.
How often do you personally change yours? |

change mine 0-1 times. IE.. when I get the tractor.. if I have to take the front end apart.. it gets changed if I need it changed.
Sometimes i'll get a tractor and someone has set the front in real narrow where it won;t track on a ramp with the rear.. I usually get them tracking to the rear.. or close.. mind you i have some set a lil wider than others.. etc.
If I need a different width.. I pull a different one out of the barn.. |

Mine is set for plowing and I haven't changed it. Back on the
farm, we used to have to change it for cultivating. |

When I bought mine it had been used since new with a belly mower. The left front was set in a couple of notches to make trimming around buildings easier. Of course, they never adjusted the tie rod so I have a tire that looks like new and one that is half bald. |
