I finally got to do my victory laps around the yard tonight on my '40 9N. It's the first time this tractor has been out for a stroll in 20 years. The carburetor rebuild was the final piece. I had to coax it just a little with some ether but once it fired up it ran like it had just been running yesterday. My wife took the photo below after dark so it's not very clear. If it was you'd see I'm grinning from ear to ear. I'll get better photos tomorrow.

Congratulations Scott!
Its a great feeling isn't it?
Interesting paint scheme on your tractor.
I think I've seen one like it recently here on the forum.
So what's on the Christmas list?
New tires, or maybe just some more gas? |

Thanks guys, and thanks for the help. It's a great feeling to bring a piece of history back to life. I still have some things to do, things to fix, but just knowing that runs well makes it all worth it. The paint job was applied by my neighbor, the last thing he did to it before he parked it 20 years ago. |

Actually it's metal-flake purple and gold. My buddy calls it "ghetto fabulous". The color doesn't matter to me though. It looks OK and now it runs. The rims aren't solid gold by the way, just gold plated.
More photos in the daylight.

You're right, the color really doesn't matter, I just like the trim work.
Good looking tractor.
I see the rear wheels are dished out.
That will make it easy to put chains on if you need to for winter plowing.
Chains won't be near the fenders that way.
Those hat rims come at a premium now a days too.
Looks like a great rig to me! |

Congrads. It looks like a nice setup to me. The color is kind a different, but as you say, who cares. |

It does stand out, so at least I'll be able to find it in the parking lot. |
