on the Case serial numbers at 1937 the starting number doesn't look right. i thought the rule was the 1st and 4th numbers then subtract 3 to get the year . doesn't work for this year. confused. |

I'll have to look into it. I always assumed that 37 and prior was before they implemented that dated serial number? I'll see what I can find. |

I double checked this with our warehouse manager as they have to order parts based on serial numbers. The serial number list, as is, is what is used with the major third party wholesalers. 29 through 37 Letter series use a straight numbering system (or if it was coded, I'm not familiar with the code algorithm). |

thanks. all the years before 1937, if you take first and the fourth digits and put them side by side. then subtract three from that , you come up with the year . it does work. just wondered about 37. probably just another one of the Case mysteries. |
