I was looking for a Haynes (or similar) manual for a 1999 Olds Aurora.
None of the local parts stores sell them in print.
Found a "dealer type" set on fleabay for $70~$130.
Went to Haynes.com and their listing of Olds and Buick cars skip these models.
Any idea why?
AutoZone sells a 1 year subscription to an online manual, that may be the way I have to go.
What I really need is an electrical diagram, and I don't know if the online manual has it.
This car turns its headlights on and off when it wants to.
Including in the middle of the day or night with no one around it and
the automatic lights turned off.

I doubt you"ll find anything pertaining to that in a manual . the multifunction switch on those go bad pretty often. Feeds back just enough to make they lighting control module go whacky . Switch is not cheap, $375 or there abouts was the last one i installed. Pretty sure bet thats your problem .

Bryan, that was my though also, but I was:
1) trying to prove it before buying one
2) wondering exactly how to replace it.
On some cars its pull the air bag and steering wheel, on others you can
just pull the plastic covers and change it.
I haven't pulled any of it apart yet as I was hoping to test first.

You haven't talked to Denny at what used to be the Olds dealer in Sheridan have you? He still uses the old dealership as his personal tinker shop. He's around there most afternoons.

You can try: Faxon Auto Literature, 3901 Carter St., Suite 2, Riverside, CA., 92501-1054. I got the electrical diagram and a new copy of the owners manual for my 1967 Ford F-100 from them. I don"t have a phone number for them but you should be able to find it.

No, I haven't. Might be a good thought though.
Only about 7 miles from me, so not hard to get there if I get out of work at a decent hour.
It's my sister's car, so I'll have to makes some arrangements to take it with me.
