why is it that when i go on jdparts.com and down load parts book for my B it works great but when i try and pull the one up for my 70 it wont work, it just brings up a bunch of letters and numbers

I think it has to be because the 70 parts catalog has more pages than the B and the speed of download of your ISP. I get the letters you're referring to from time to time and then if I reattempt to download it will work correctly.

Both 70 tractor and 70 diesel tractor open up OK for me. Still, that's why I have these old parts books on a disk because when I try to open the books on line from the JD parts site, particularly for some of the earlier tractors, I just get garbage too.

I have had the same thing happen. Give it time to download. Sometimes it takes a few minutes.

I think I read this on here and it worked for me. In the browser search box you should see what looks like a small torn paper. I click on that and it works every time. Hope that helps.

it took about 20 minutes, just as i was ready to give up the damned thing worked!
