I have an old stihl 045 saw I would like to get running. It needs points and a condenser that is not available through Stihl anymore. Where could I get these obsolete parts from ? Is there anywhere to get aftermarket parts for these old saws ? Thanks |

If points and condenser are all you need, I would check with a small engine parts house for a universal solid state conversion which will replace both points and condenser. www.psep.biz list one for about $14.00. They give the dimensions so you can tell if it will fit in the space available. |

ShadetreeRet is right , get a transistorized ignition module. I used a brand called Nova that I got from my local stihl dealer, price was $27.. |
