I have a 960 ford that everytime the tractor is started the hydraulic lift arms go straight to the up position no matter where the handle is and they wont come back down until the tractor is shut off. Has anyone else had this problem? If so how can I fix it and where can i get parts?
thanks for any help you can give me, Patrick |

Sounds like your lift cover needs an overhaul, or at least the valving or linkage does. Your NH dealer is one parts source. Beware! His/her parts will be pricey!

#1 you need the I-T FO-20 manual. Next you need to pull the inspection cover the one with the dip stick to have a look see what is going on. I will almost bet the control valve is stuck and need to be fixed or the linkage is not hooked up or broken etc |

Not with a Ford but with a David Brown that I used to have. I bet the position control arm has broken off the link that it is supposed to attach to. It was very easy to spot on the DB when I opened it up, and repair was just remove and replace a broken bolt. Removal of cover required, not a big deal but heavier than it looks. Be sue the arms are down be fore removal and replace all of the O-rings.probably ought to rebuild lift cylinder while you are in there. |
