Have a bandsaw that was full of oil and metal chips tried to clean it with a shop vac but it just plugged the hose ,I tried a magnet took forever any better ideas??

Does it have a coolant system? If so I wouldn't be afraid of degreaser (simple green or some of the citrus based ones) and a garden hose. Bearings and stuff should be sealed for use with coolant, just don't blast the motor or other elec.
