This is the plow I bought at auction. My little tractor snatched this plow off the ground like nobodies business. Honestly, even though I know what the tractor is supposed to lift, I was worried about that. These pictures show the rollover mechanism, the cylinder is missing. I'll get one this weekend.
They also show the holes that are used to move the bottoms to change the size of the plow. It is currently at it's largest settings, 18 inches and I am going to move it to it's smallest cut of 14 inches.
Give me time to set it up and it will look good behind the tractor. The angle of the plow will not be as severe, remember this plow is set up for deep plowing with big bottoms. Also when I change the angle for 14 inch bottoms and move the bottoms on the frame, they will be in the proper location behind the tires. I can't wait to get started. Only problem is I have to finish my heater project in my barn before I can play with my, er I mean work on my plow.
The little 'Bota weighs almost 7000lbs with a loader and rimguard in the tires. It runs away with my Ford 2 bottom. That's why I wanted 3 bottoms. If I can't set this plow up properly for my tractor and pull it well, I may have to sell it but I going to give it a shot first.

Good for you! Those Olivers are good plows. My brother
had one.Moved it out from 14" to 18",pulled it with
a IH 856.A friend pulled one (3x14) behind a AC 185
Crop hustler.I used one when I worked for a neighbor
in highschool.Pulled 4x16 with a Oliver 1955.If 3x14
is too big, drop the rear and make 2x18!Be glad to to
'advise' if needed.Good luck and enjoy your new
plow.Steve

I really think I can pull three 14's fine. On another forum a member pulls a 3x16 plow with a Montana 5740 with unloaded r4's. The montana has a bit less HP than me and weighs less.
I will update and provide pictures as the plow work progresses.

I have that same plow in blue. Mine is the 2/3 third bottom is the add on. Yours looks like a 3/4? You could still remove the third bottom if you need to. My 1800 handles it good with one front weight. I tried my 1550 with it and it was to light for my likin' I think you will end up with some weight in your front bucket. They are fun to plow with on level ground. Ain't worth a durn in the hills. ;~)

Yes, mine is the 2/3. The third bottom is the add on. If teh plow had been a 3/4 I would not have bought it. I'm 'sure' I can pull it but there is always that bit of doubt.
Yes I kinda figure I'll have to pick up some dirt in the bucket. I was at the dealer yesterday inquiring about weights for the front. I already have plans for an additional 642 pounds of cast weight on the rears. I've cleared the additional weight with the Bota folks.
glad someone finally chimed in here with a rollover. Smile

Since you have an Oliver, can you tell me a paint code for the Oliver green? Eventually I plan to paint the plow. Sure don't want to paint is the wrong green if you catch my drift. Wink Laughing

PS Yes my tractor is a 4x4

I like your photo angles so that we can't see what is really holding down the front of your "Bota, LOL.

PPG has three green paint codes for Oliver. I would look at their paint chips to see which one is close. Hal

Not sure what all that was. That was a field that our tractor club plowed 2 springs ago in conjuntion with the IH collectors chapter 11 in mich. Don"t even know who the land owner was.
I remember thinking it was either a bad catch of seeding or it was planted as a winter cover crop.

I got my operators manual and I may have a problem. Might have to sell the plow but I'm going to go ahead and work on it and see how it plays out.

I can.
I don't want to. But yeah, that would be the issue I'm talking about.
