Oliver made forklifts using thier tractors as the carrier.
I have a one but don"t know what tractor they used.
I believe it"s either a 550 or a super 55.
The serial number of the tractor is 72928-599.
I went to tractordata.com and the serial number from that web site leads me to believe the unit is a 550. Does any know if the forklift line used thier own s/n"s or can I rely on the one on the tractor? |

The 599 Powertrain code is for a shuttle shift transmission in a 551. The 551 forklift is the type that has the higher mounted seat over the dask. I have literature on the 551 forklift that is dated 1964. This unit has the sheetmetal like the regular tractors where the later 552 had the heavy cast grill with heavier sheetmetal hood and the operator down lower. |

I didn't think the 551 came out until 1960. |

I recently saw a 552 forklift and it said Oliver 552 on one side and Cockshutt 552 on the other side. It was in "original" condition and wish I was close enough to get a serial number. |
