My clutch release fork spring is missing, it fell out when I removed the hand hole cover. Can I replace it from underneath without splitting? The clutch pedal does not rest against the platform now. I have thought of making a spring of some sort to simply hold the pedal back, is this an option? Sorry to the correct police for two questions in one post.

The spring part number is 4944da available from your friendly Case IH dealer. You will be able to replace from underneath. To say the spring is stout is an understatemnet considering the mounting points. A few good cuss words and one last push is all it took for me.......

That clutch spring is very strong, it took me and two boys to get it on.

Did y'all do that from underneath? Must have been crowded.

You always have to unhook them and rehook from under neath when doing a clutch job. I clamp a good vise grip on and go to it. It was a lot easier 50 years ago than the last one I did.
