202 hyd. adjustment

Hello all
Jumped over to this site because I've read that John U.K. frequents this forum and he is referred to as the go to guy.
My problem is the vertical lever adjustment on the top cover. I have read that it should be adjusted to a point where 3 pounds pressure is required to move them to the front of the slot.
The way mine is acting this can Not be achieved.
Tightening the SLN (self locking nuts) lets the vertical levers flop back and forth and loosening the SLN's to the point where they are not in contact with the end of the slot is not right either because it then takes WAY more than 3 pounds pressure, more like 30 pounds.
The self locking nuts are near the end of the rods.
I may have something put together wrong where the cam assembly makes contact with the rock shaft. I had previously taken some of that apart to free up rusted rollers and such. I thought I had put everything back the way it was.
I have a repair manual,parts book and owners manual, none of which show in detail the installation for that particular area.
The 202 is about the same as a 35. Any help would be appreciated Rod

Yes, John (UK) has a great set of instructions for doing this. I have a 202 and rebuilt the hydraulics earlier this year and used his instructions. I'm sure he'll chime in.

The adjustment you are speaking of which is supposed to have 3lbs pull is only for about the last 1/8" or so of travel for both levers. The position and draft controls have to be set correctly and the little cam has to be set properly as well before performing these adjustments. Again, John will probably email you his directions which explain it much more clearly than I can here as I've only done it once.
Once done though I can say that they work great!
