Do ya think a 8 ply tire is to much for a 15.5x38 in 3500-4000 class? As far as ply goes I known there heavy 200ibs. Thanks for any input... |

I don't think ply matters. I've had my but kicked by numerous tractors that didn"t have matching tires on it. Harold Harper used to take names with a 77 with an Armstrong on one side & a Goodyear on the other!! Both were cut good and that was all that mattered. I think people way overthink the 6ply vs 8ply deal. Just my .02 |

I agree with Cody. My tractor has a 6 ply on one side and an 8 ply on the other. Both cut the same. It pulls in a straight line and I've never noticed any difference. There was only a 5 lb difference in Firestone 6 & 8 ply tires from the factory in the 151 style I run.

I know there are a few mfg's where the 8ply is lighter than the 6ply by as much as 12 to 15 lb per tire |

IMHO the ply won't make a difference but that wide of a tire at that weight you will just float traction will be a major issue. I'd go with a 13.6 and let em bite more |

At that weight id run 11.2's, 12.4's max. But im NO expert & run slow, low hp deeres. In theory more plys should be stiffer but an 8-ply rating dont mean it has 8 plies necessarily :~ |

You Guys! You know that's not right. I have 18.4X34's on my little JD at 3500. And I just might walk right threw your ruts and beat you! |
