photo adds has a add for cub emblems from 1959 in the box these say cub special, does anybody know what this model had on it for the "special" designation |

I don't know, never heard of one, but Jeff Foreman deals in all the IH emblems he can find -- you might ask him. |

Im pretty sure they made a "cub special" in france...or somewhere overseas.. It was a newer,slightly more powerful version of the original cub.. otherwise pretty much the same |

The oval "special" emblems were for LoBoys destined for export. They were never on French Cubs. I think you are referring to the French "Super Cubs". |

Sorry guys, I don"t know the back story on these Cub Special emblems. Until this week, I have only seen 1 other Cub Special emblem in my time and it is in a private collection. And believe me, I see ALOT of emblems. Someone in the Wis archives will need to get us all more info more this.The other Cub emblem that I"vbe only seen once is a CUB HI-CROP oval. Those are cool looking too. |

Screwstick gave the explanation. Some export Cub Lo-Boys were labeled as "Cub Special". That emblem would not be in the US version of the parts catalog as it was export use only. |
