put in new fly wheel starter ring. had the starter cleaned and checked out. new cables, new battery,went to start complete rebuilt engine. starter locked up in the flywheel.messed up the ring gear. im using starter lucas m418G V139 25519b Whats Going? is this tractor postive or negative ground or does it matter ??? |

The tractor would have been negative ground but it shouldn't make any difference to the starter. Has there been a new bendix put on the starter? |

Sounds like the teeth on the bendix aren't quite right for the ring gear. Or the ring gear is too close or something. I know they had a problem with the ring gears moving on the flywheel and later they came out with a step on the flywheel which eliminated that problem. Who was the bendix made by? |

Only # I recognize is 25519 which is for TEA20 according to my notes. Lucas #for TE 20 should be 25505. Who built the engine? Continental or Standard Motors. |

continental Z-120 whats the difference between TEA AND TE 20 ?? how do i know what starter belongs with this tractor ?? |
