I'm doing a complete rebuild on my 4219 engine. I just bolted the rocker arm shaft on and set the valve clearance. I noticed that where the rocker arm contacts the valve stem cap, that its not centered over the valve stem cap. If I took a measurement from the center of the rocker arm contact point and the center of the valve stem cap they would be off about 3/32 of an inch toward the intake side of the head. My question is this normal or is something wrong. Thanks, Gary |

I never paid too much attention to the way the rocker contacts the valve caps..It's not likely that the valve has moved that much and as long as the rockers and rocker shaft isn't grooved , the rocker should be centered as best as possible.. I'd say , adjust 'em and run it.. |
