Some interesting tractors/engines there. What's with the smokestacks back to the rear of the boiler? |

They are sure pretty all painted up. We need a war between the big case 110 and the new case quad tract just to see what 100 year old tractor can do against today's big boys.

Return flue engines; they have the conventional round tubes like any other steamer to get the smoke to the front then have one large tube towards the top of the boiler to return the smoke to the back the builders thinking was trying to extract the maximum amount of heat from the fuel being burned. |

Great pics. The 14th pic of the CASE #1 Portable Steam engin is priceless. I bet there are no more than 5 of those engines that still run. There is/or was a non running one off 65miles NE from me several years back.I believe the CASE forty was pictured plowing in a post on here a few days back, titled, Plow Day.
Thanks for posting the great pics.

At the Wayne Co. fair here in Ohio they used to hook a steam traction engine to the tractor pull sled at the end of the pulls and it would just take off and go and keep on going !!! |
