I have a cub Cadet 782 (CCC model). I use it for snow removal. I checked it about a month ago. Started fine. Yesterday, I went to use it and had no electric, no lights, no hour meter, nothing. Any thoughts?

How do you know if there is any charge in the battery? Maybe it's dead. Do you own a multimeter or a test probe?

Is there a fuse in the wiring? Perhaps it's blown or corroded. These are the two most obvious places to look base upon your post.

Try using jumper/booster cables to your vehicle and see if it will spin over. If you can locate a wiring diagram in a manual, then that will help you isolate the issue.

Thanks, Tom. The battery is no issue. I put it in my 122, and it fired right up. The fuse business had not occurred to me. I'll give it a look. If it is that simple, this will be a good day.

Check sn of tractor on id plate,if 720,000/above there are 2 fuseholders/fuses behind dash, one fuse is main power to ign sw and is installed between battery pos(+) and pos(+) terminal on ammeter,if this fuse blown nothing on tractor will work(starter,lights)2nd fuse is for headlights/tail lights,if fuse between battery & ign sw not blown then there is an open circuit between battery terminal on starter sol & ign sw,possible causes:

Battery cable loose on starter sol terminal.

Wire to ign sw loose/broken on sol battery terminal

Ammeter bad or connections on same loose/broken

Ign sw bad.

Loose or bad neg(-)battery connection to eng block/chassis due to rust/dirt.

On your 782 check the back of the ignition switch for corrosion. wiggle the wires and see if that works. If the head lights do not work with the switch check all ground wires and clean.

You may have pinned down the issue. I have not had much time to work on the tractor, but I did remove the fuses. They looked fine, so I put them back. I tried the ignition and had power but just for a moment.
